I’m a dedicated clinical embryologist, trained in molecular & assisted reproductive techniques. A background experience in obstetrics and gynaecology, equipped me with expertise in reproductive medicine. I’m passionate about reproductive oncology/fertility preservation for young cancer patients.
I hope to enable young Ugandans diagnosed with cancer realise their reproductive future.
I graduated from the University of Oxford in 2018 with a Distinction in MSc in clinical embryology & received the prestigious achievement in Biosciences Prize. On enrolment, I was a freshman obstetrician and gynaecologist in Uganda with a passion for assisted reproduction. The holistic aspects of the course transformed me, from clinician to bio-scientist guided by the course staffs who attended to my scholarly prerequisites. At completion, I was proficient in assisted reproduction & reproductive science. I have transferred these skills to my clinical and laboratory practice, helping upgrade an urban fertility centre in Uganda into a centre of excellence for assisted reproduction in East Africa. In addition, I am collaborating in a project aimed at setting up the first stem cell processing laboratory in East and Central Africa at one of the leading universities in the region.
"The MSc clinical embryology course equipped me with proficiency in scientific writing, critical thinking, experimental design and data presentation and I credit it for enlightening me on human reproduction mechanisms of physiology and pathophysiology. In addition to attained skills, interacting with renowned scientists in the field overshot my expectations. Special appreciation to staff Kevin, Bec, Celine, Jenny and Laura, who fostered a learning-friendly environment that guaranteed my academic and career goals success. Ultimately, the course positively changed my perspective toward biomedical research and thus, I might have come in a clinician, but I left a clinical scientist".
